Shawm House is a multi-award winning self-build and a truly unique project. An exemplar in rural residential design, innovation and construction, Shawm is located in a beautiful but exposed Northumberland setting. Designed for retired couple Anne and Tony Pender within the grounds of their existing farmhouse the house is the product of five years of collaboration between Dan Kerr of MawsonKerr Architects and the client’s son, Richard Pender.

"ARPower are a highly professional outfit. They installed a 3.3kW Sunpower array on our new-build project..." The integration of our PV array into our non-standard roof build up required a good deal of attention to detail but Mark embraced the challenge. ARP were also extremely patient when issues with the heating contractor meant the solar switch control unit could not be installed for some months after the completion of the array installation, returning to site to complete the work. The administrative support provided by Maria is excellent too. I hope to use them again in the future"
