Mental Health is something we take very seriously at AR Power and we do a lot to support mental health in the workplace and the community.
10% of our employees are Mental Health First Aiders and are always accessible to our team, offering support whether its required directly or indirectly. We operate an open door policy and our senior leadership team and directors are always available if any of the team need to discuss anything whether it’s work related or not.
In 2023, our Project Manager Adam Black dreamt up the idea while traveling between projects, Adam then ran through the idea with our operations director Chris Balmer who loved the concept, Adam then co-founded the ‘Manufacturers Ramble’ along with Mark Bracknall of Theo James Recruitment and Oliver Bell, an independent workplace wellbeing specialist.
On 17th November, over 75 people met at Souter Lighthouse in Whitburn to embark on a 10k walk, talk about mental health, and to raise money for Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.
This year, on the 17th May 2024, around 120 ‘ramblers’ and 15 dogs gathered at the Souter Lighthouse to take part in the 2nd Manufacturers Ramble. So far, the event has helped raise over £3,000 for the charity and has had a lot of positive feedback from those who attended.
