We have recently helped a local museum with their upcoming event starting 20th July 2024.
The Discovery Museum in Newcastle are preparing for their latest event, Steam to Green, an exhibition all about renewable energy.
The museum relies on mostly donations for their events and Equans UK & Ireland were delighted to provide the solar panel and Tesla Powerwall battery storage device.
They initially reached out to us for advice on how the panel could be fitted to their purpose-made roof structure, so we jumped at the chance to help them, supplying the mounting system.
Two members of our in-house installation visited the museum to take a look at the structure and how the panel and Tesla Powerwall could be fitted.
With the structure being closed, the team needed to remove the front panel to get access to the back to ensure the panel was secure. With safety being the number 1 priority at AR Power and the average solar panel weighing 20kgs, we needed to ensure it wasn’t going to come off the roof.
Our installers located the suitable fixing points and secured the panel.
The team at the Discovery Museum asked if we could help put the Tesla Powerwall on the side of the structure while we were there, which we happily agreed to.
Both Solar Panel and Powerwall look great and will be an excellent part of the event.
Steam to Green opens its doors on the 20th July and is free to attend. It will highlight the latest innovations in green renewable energy including ground-breaking research taking place in the North East. It will also showcase science and engineering objects from the museums’ historical collections, including some that have not been on display for many years.
