We completed a project for Bradford University which consisted of installing a number of separate solar panel systems to different buildings and roof tops.
Project Details | |
System Size 406.03 kWp |
No. of Panels 745 |
Annual Generation 352,112 kWh’s |
Co2 Emissions Avoided 162,902 kg/year |
Bradford University wanted to add to their existing solar panel installation so they can save more on their energy bills and offset carbon emissions as part of a de-carbonisation project.
The buildings identified were Ashfield building, Sports Centre, and the Horton building.
This was quite a technical and challenging installation with three individual solar arrays consisting of multiple roof slopes, each requiring individual designs, configuration, installation and handover. The weather conditions made getting the materials to the roof space and installing difficult for the team. Our dedicated Project Manager rose to the challenge, ensuring all risk assessments and safety measures were put in place for each installation.
The University have 8 inverters installed across the 3 buildings; some have their own plant rooms. All inverters are now fed back to a main switch room within the University buildings so they can use the energy created across their sites.
This was a 406.03kWp system consisting of 745 solar panels which will generate 352,112kWh’s of electricity per year, saving the University money on their energy bills. The installation is also contributing to the decarbonisation project by avoiding 162,902kg of Co2 emissions per year.
We project the University will have saved money on their energy bills and effectively paid back the cost of the installation within 3.5 to 4 years. They will continue to use power generated from the panels rather than the grid, saving money on their energy bills.
Luke Page, Project Implementation Manager at Bradford University said “Your performance has been a breath of fresh air and I have been impressed. Especially the detailed planning works and the promptness of the Health and Safety. It is rare to come across someone with this diligence.”
All of the solar panel designs, grid applications, project management, installations, electrical installations and commissioning was completed by the team at AR Power.
