Port of Blyth offers a first class port handling service with particular expertise across the offshore energy/renewables, decommissioning, unitised and bulk sectors whilst also offering first class logistics and training solutions.
They approached AR Power in 2022 to assist with achieving their NetZero targets by installing solar to their buildings.
This was a complex install with the buildings being 14m in height at lowest point rising up to 16M at highest point. We installed the solar panels in a tight area using a 17m Telehandler with the need to close the internal road while lifts were taking place. A boom lift was used to safely bring DC Cables down to two separate inverter locations essentially giving two separate installs. Due to an unprecedented amount of seagull activity, we assisted the port in installing a bird deterrent system.
The system size is 684.18 kWp consisting of 1267 solar panels which is projected to generate 639,844 kWh’s annually and will help the port offset 124,157 kg of Co2 emissions on average per year.
Alan Todd, Port Director said “The Port of Blyth would like to thank AR Power for their support on the 690 kWp Solar Panel Project on B Shed and 14 Shed in Blyth. It has been a pleasure working with AR Power who have gone to great length to ensure high levels of customer services have been provided.
“The work has been undertaken to a very high standard with detailed attention to health and safety and quality throughout.”
