DJN Limited was established in 1995 and has grown from supplying fabricated machine components to become one of the leading metal fabrication companies in the North East of England.
The company wanted to install solar to its 13,000sq ft site situated at the Wear Industrial Estate in Washington due to rising energy costs and uncertainty in the market. Their aim is to reduce costs and provide an alternative source of power for the company.
Ryan Clinton, Director at DJN Limited said “We went out to a number of different commercial solar providers for a quote. Solar is something we’ve discussed as a company for a number of years but we never had the immediate need, when we saw our energy costs rising we knew it was the right time to invest.
“We spoke to AR Power in our very initial solar meetings, years ago. They came across really professional and so we always kept them in mind as a potential provider. When it came time to place the order, they came in at the right price and had the capacity to deliver the project when we needed it.”
Our in house teams designed a 100.80 kWp solar PV system consisting of 224 panels which stands to generate 92,739 kWh of energy for the company to use each and every year.
This would work out at an annual saving of £21,329.97 on energy costs if the company were paying the average of 23p per kWh.
The system will also help DJN reduce their annual carbon output by 20,854 kg.
Looking at the system cost and the savings on energy bills over the next 25 years, the metal fabrication company stand to pay off the system within 4 years.
Ryan added “We would certainly recommend AR Power to anyone looking at adding solar to their business. Everything was very smooth and professional, all of the team kept us informed throughout the process.”
Stephen Armstrong, head of Commercial at AR Power said “Its great to support another local company with their energy reduction initiatives. DJN were looking to reduce their reliance on energy from the grid and this commercial solar PV system will certainly help them achieve that.”
