The new Tesla Powerwall 3 revolutionises the battery storage industry with game changing features and technology making saving and earning money, easy for those using them.
Tesla have upgraded the On-Grid power to 11.5 kW continuous, which is more than double the amount of the Tesla Powerwall 2.
You can ‘Earn by Selling’ where you can send energy back to the grid when the demand is high and get paid by your energy company. This is their Virtual Power Plant initiative to help stabilise the grid with clean energy.
Avoid power outages with a Powerwall 3. When the grid goes down, you can be safe in the knowledge that you will have your battery storage solution to keep you with power for as long as the charge lasts.
The Powerwall 3 works with and without solar panels. Get more from your panels while you are out of your home by storing unused energy to the Tesla Powerwall 3. Alternatively, you can charge the battery at night using a cheaper tariff from the grid to use when the price per kWh is higher.

While there are many battery storage solutions available, the Tesla Powerwall 3 offers many benefits, including:
Expand your Tesla Powerwall 3 system by up to 54 kW with the 13.5kW Tesla Powerwall 3 expansion units.
You can install up to 3 expansion units per phase and benefit from bigger energy savings and last longer during power outages.
We can either stack them one in front of each other or put them side by side on your wall. Previously with the Powerwall 2, we would have had to notify the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) when adding an extra unit, however with the Powerwall 3 storage extenders we do not have to wait 9 weeks for approval, meaning you can start to save money a lot faster than before.
The cost of the additional Tesla Powerwall expansion units is a lot less than the original price of the Tesla Powerwall 3, however you can expect an additional cost for stacking kits and glass fronts depending on the installation configuration you choose.
Please note that we can only stack Powerwall storage extenders if they are ground mounted.

The general assumption when a new product comes to market is that the cost is going to be high, then reduced over time as R&D costs are recovered from sales. However this is not the case with the new Tesla Powerwall 3.
In fact, the cost of the new Powerwall 3 is not too different to the cost of it’s popular predecessor, the Tesla Powerwall 2.
There is the cost of the main battery and gateway devices. There are some additional costs such as the DNO application cost, this is where we need to check with your local Network Operator to make sure you the grid will allow for the Powerwall. Sometimes they charge us, sometimes they don’t. If we do not get charged, we will refund this to you on your final invoice.
We also need to include the cost of labour to install the Tesla Powerwall 3. One of our highly trained and highly skilled Tesla certified installers will ensure your Powerwall 3 battery is installed safely. Our installation team take pride in their work so you can be assured the installation will be very tidy. If you are adding extenders then there may be additional costs for mounting kits and glass fronts.
We will carry out a site survey before installation and let you know if there are going to be any additional costs to installing your Tesla Powerwall 3 battery. If you have thick stone walls to drill through, this may add to the cost, and the location of your meter and the location of where you want your Powerwall installing will also determine the overall cost of your installation.

Using a Tesla Powerwall in conjunction with a solar installation can reduce your reliance on fossil fuels and limit your use of energy from the grid. It can also allow you to power an electric vehicle, which will reduce your use of gas or petrol-powered transport. With the right solar panel system and Tesla Powerwall units, it is possible to meet your home’s electricity demand without relying on traditional energy sources during the spring and summer months.
Tesla Powerwalls can be used without solar panels. Most energy companies will give you a tariff where you pay a lower rate for energy at night, allowing you to charge your Tesla Powerwall with cheaper energy to use during the day when prices are higher.
Small businesses can make the most of their solar panels by installing Tesla Powerwalls. For larger businesses, we can create custom battery storage solutions to help you harness the unused power output from your large solar array.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 is the current battery offered in the UK. It replaces the Tesla Powerwall 2 which was phased out in 2024.
This depends on the types of appliances you use, your home’s energy source, how many solar panels you have if you’re using solar generation and the size of your household. Generally, a Tesla Powerwall can keep your property self-sufficient throughout Spring and Autumn if used in conjunction with a suitable-sized solar PV array. Tesla will be releasing expansion packs for larger households that use more electricity to give you more capacity to store energy.
Tesla batteries are specifically designed for power outages and will start powering your home should your mains power fail, providing you have enough charge in your battery. They can power the average home with several appliances running for hours, meaning that power outages won’t affect your life. With a Tesla Powerwall, you’ll always have backup power, provided there is enough stored energy in the unit.
Tesla Powerwalls are an ideal way to reduce the cost of your energy bills, whether you have an existing solar PV system or not. Stored energy generated from your solar panels can be used at night when there’s no sunlight to charge your solar panels, meaning you can use renewable energy for longer. You can also store electricity from the grid overnight when the price per kWh is lower, then use it during the day when the price per kWh is higher to cut costs. Your Tesla Powerwall can also reduce costs associated with power cuts by providing power continuously to appliances like freezers or heating systems.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 has new functionality where you can add expansion packs to your system to get up to 40.5 kWh of extra storage per phase. If you have multiple phases then you can add a Powerwall battery storage system per phase and add expansion packs to them. Each expansion unit is 13.5 kWh and you do not need to put an application in to the DNO before we can install the expansion packs.
This means that you can benefit from cheaper electricity sooner.
Please bear in mind that if you do choose to have your expansion packs stacked there will be additional costs for mounting kits depending on how many you choose.
The Tesla Powerwall comes with a 10-year warranty, and its lifespan will depend on how much you use your battery, but most customers report that it can last 20 years or more.
The Powerwall Gateway is the control system for your Powerwall battery. It works with your energy supplier, be it from your solar panels or the National Grid, to control the energy going to your battery. You need 1 Gateway per phase, and most residential properties have 1 phase. If you have more than 1 phase, you will need a Gateway and Tesla Powerwall for each phase to balance the system.
