Exciting News! Our in-house installation teams are currently installing a 1.76 MWp Solar PV system for Komatsu UK Ltd in Birtley.
This project marks a significant milestone for AR Power and will become our largest rooftop solar installation to date.
The innovative SolarEdge Technologies system ensures adherence to the RC62 fire safety recommendations.
The system comprises of 3,912 panels and is expected to generate 1,641,862 kWh of energy annually for the machinery manufacturer. This system will significantly reduce their carbon footprint, saving 8,752,569 kg of CO2e each year, contributing substantially to their carbon reduction initiatives.
As the Principal Designer and Contractor, we have meticulously planned every aspect of this project. Our design team has ensured that all elements meet the highest standards of efficiency and safety. The SolarEdge system includes advanced inverters with 98% efficiency and module-level monitoring for optimal performance. The system also features integrated arc fault protection and rapid shutdown capabilities for enhanced safety.
Pre-project planning involved comprehensive risk assessments and coordination throughout with our in-house Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, Project Manager, and the wider operations team. This thorough planning ensures that everyone on-site remains safe, and Komatsu’s day-to-day operations experience minimal disruption. We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of CDM compliance, ensuring that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed throughout the project lifecycle.
This installation is a key part of Komatsu’s broader sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce CO2 emissions across their operations and supply chain.
