Northumbria County Council have launched a new business support scheme where companies in Northumberland can get a grant to help towards the cost of fixed assets, such as solar panels.
The grant can support a project from £25,000 to £750,000 where the business will be refunded 40% of the cost, which could be anything from £10,000 to £300,000.
Solar panels can help companies save a lot of money on energy bills and offset their carbon footprint, helping them reach NetZero and make Northumberland greener.
The eligibility criteria includes:
- Based in Northumberland
- Trading mainly as business to business
- Not in Public, Fisheries or Agricultural sectors
- Trading for more than 12 months
- Have less than 50 full time employees
- Be able to create more full-time employees (growing FTE) or demonstrate that you will safeguard current employees
- Your annual turnover is less than £10.2M and balance sheet less than £5.1M
- Have not exceeded the £200,000 Euros De Minimis in the last three years
- Be able to complete the project by December 2024
As part of the council’s initiative, you are also entitled to 12 hours’ free business support which can be used to help you with the application for the grant, amongst other things.
