In December 2023, the UK Government took a large step towards reducing carbon emissions for the country by announcing that all residential solar storage batteries fitted after 1st Feb 2024 will be exempt from the standard VAT charge of 20%.
This means you can get the very popular and reliable Tesla Powerwall installed to your home for less, helping you make more savings on your energy bills.
A battery storage solution allows you to save energy generated by your exiting solar panels so you use it at a later point in the day, at night for example. Some of our customers are self sufficient and require very little energy from the grid during the spring and summer months when using both solar and a battery storage solution.
You can also use a battery storage system without adding solar to your property and still benefit from cheaper electricity. Some Tesla Powerwall customers have an energy tariff where they pay less for energy at night, allowing them to charge their battery storage with cheaper energy to use the next day.
AR Power are approved Tesla Powerwall installers and are taking orders now for VAT free installations. Although there is no waiting list, there is still a period where we need to process paperwork and applications to the energy grid prior to installing your battery. This can take up to 9 weeks to complete, however we have seen some applications come back a lot sooner.
