Over the past few months, the team at AR Power have been working hard, putting measures in place to help achieve additional ISO certifications.
In addition to our ISO 9001:2015 which we were awarded earlier this year, we have been working towards achieving ISO 14001:2015 and 45001:2018.
ISO 14001:2015 is to demonstrate that we as a company have all the relevant measures in place to manage our environmental responsibilities. This has included introducing led lighting, recycling bins, extra signage to ensure devices and lights are turned off if not in use, and adding solar panels to our premises.
ISO 45001:2018 is related to occupational health and safety. Being in the solar industry, the work we carry out across the board can carry risks, especially when working at heights and with electricity. It also relates to safety in the workplace, ensuring risk assessments are carried out and remedial measures actioned if anything poses a risk.
Both of these certifications are very important to AR Power. Our drive and passion is creating a greener and more sustainable world, so it would only make sense for it to start at home. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the amazing team we have across all areas of the business, so it is important that everyone remains safe within the workplace and on-site and risks are limited. Both of these certifications will enable us to ensure that both of these objectives are met as a business.
The auditors from the British Assessment Bureau spent 4 days with our team spending their time at both our premises in Washington and on-site at a solar installation we were carrying out in Derby to ensure we met all of the criteria needed to be awarded the certifications.
We were very happy when after the 4 days the team at the British Assessment Bureau confirmed that we had passed the audit and would be awarded the addition accreditations to go alongside our ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification. The auditor’s comments included “it was very clear that as a business AR Power are well managed, organised and controlled which is evidenced by our processes, robust documentation and our commitment and adherence to those”.
Great work team.
