North East Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust – the organisation that we all rely upon to save lives – is now helping to save the environment through their increased use of self-generated electricity, thanks to AR Power providing a bespoke solution to their requirements.
To meet their exact working brief, we were tasked to survey, design, install and commission Solar PV arrays for nine of their pre-selected ambulance stations. The buildings were widely spread within a geographic arc extending from Carlin How in east Yorkshire, westward across to Haltwhistle in mid Northumberland and north to Berwick on the Scottish border.
Whilst the design for each system was entirely unique, we had one common priority for all. This was to carry out the installation work without compromising the operating efficiency of the hard working ambulance crews who manned the various stations – a task which we thoughtfully fulfilled with consideration, care and efficiency.
The following ambulance stations – now fully completed, have a combined electricity production power of 116.75kW, providing a substantial financial saving to the organisation’s annual energy spend.
- Belford 6kW
- Berwick 15kW
- Bishop Auckland 11kW
- Carlin How 5.75kW
- Haltwhistle 4kW
- Newton Aycliffe 10kW
- Peterlee 30kW
- South Shields 15kW
- Stockton 20kW
