We’ve recently completed a 116.85 kWp solar PV installation for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of Robertson Group.

The trust wanted to install a solar PV system to help offset the increase in energy demand due to installing air source heat pumps.
Robertson Group, the Principal Contractor for the wider project, contacted AR Power in January to supply a proposal including quotation for the solar PV system at Regent Point in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our in-house design team were able to look at the building and work on the proposal quickly, helping Robertson Group maintain momentum with the renewable energy part of their project.
Looking at the electricity consumption of the trust, our team designed a 116.85 kWp system consisting of 285 panels. The system is predicted to generate 102,783 kWh for the trust per year and reduce their carbon footprint by 22,905 kg annually.
There was more space on the roof, however the current consumption did not warrant oversizing the system and filling the roof with solar panels.
We were successfully appointed as the preferred supplier by the Principal Contractor to carry out the commercial solar installation. Our operations team were able to work with suppliers and the team at Robertson Group to establish a date for the works to start.
AR Power’s dedicated project manager worked closely with the Principal Contractor and the team at Regent Point throughout the length of the project, ensuring that timescales were met and that other works which Robertson were undertaking were not affected and ran smoothly.
This also meant that our teams had to work to Robertson’s schedule and plan works to fit around key events such as site shutdowns and road closures.
